The Minister of Tourism, Vasilis Kikilias, had instructed the Cyclades Regional Tourism Agency to proceed with a thorough investigation into the DK OYSTER incidents. In spite of the government going after DK Oyster and the fact that they are world famous by know, Dimitri Kalamaras continues to rip off tourists. DK's actions are ruining the rest of the parent company "Nikoleta Theocharis Kalamaras OE" which is his family business and we are wondering if DK is trying to lower the value of the parent company so that he can buy the shares of his brothers/partners for cheap?

Standard practice in Greece is to price the fish by the kilo (e.g. 45 euro/kg) and when you order they tell you the weight of th fish, as required by law. Instead of price shown as Euro/Kilo, DK Oyster presents Euro/100gram so when they say 19.80/100gr for Kalamari that is actually 198 euro/kg.
When you order, they do not disclose the weight and price as required by law and after you eat frozen kalamari the bill comes for 150 euro for same quality you get at an average restaurant in Myconos for 15 euro. If you complain then they start their mafia style intimidation technics and/or threaten that the police will detain you.

THE FOLLOWING REVIEW IN TRIP ADVISOR GIVES A GOOD SUMMARY OF THE EXPERIENCE AT DK OYSTERI was walking on the beach path and a staff member of DK Oyster tried to lure me in saying that I get a free glass of white wine if I leave a 5* review on TripAdvisor. I politely declined but the staff was pushy saying "free sunbeds, sit madam sit" ,they are well trained into playing on peoples weaknesses. I said ok I will have a small beer since it was very hot and I was tired. I asked for the menu and the waiter said he is the menu and that I should treat myself and have some fresh mussels as well on top of my beer. I declined and said I just want a small beer. They brought me a huge boot size beer... When I seen the waiter coming my way with it, I understood its a scam and tried to leave but then everything got clear. I fell into their trap, the whole staff members came to my table asking me to get inside. They told me I order the beer and I have to pay 78 euros!!!!!They started to shout, the music got very loud just to create a panic atmosphere. I started to shout for help and ran back towards the wooden path. Thank God I escaped, I was never ever in my entire life, in a situation like this in a restaurant. I have written several official complaints to the authorities and I hope the owner with his smug attitude (just check his replies on the comments here...)gets behind bars for the scam he has been running for years now.To the owner: save your words for the Judge

They used to offer a cheap glass of wine to people to write a fake review in Tripadvisor and give them 5 stars. Notice that these are all generic one liners and the people who submitted usually have only ONE review.

Tax inspectors paid a visit to the high end restaurant at Platis Gialos on the island of Mykonos that was shamed on internet for over-charged prices. Inspectors have reportedly found not one, not two but 12 tax violations.
Reason for the tax officers to pay a visit to the restaurant was the receipt the tourists posted on travel platform tripadvisor. IF THEY DO NOT OFFER THE PROPER RECEIPT (photo on the left) AS REQUIRED BY LAW YOU ARE NOT OBLIGED TO PAY AND YOU CAN REPORT THEM TO THE POLICE.
